A Guide to Fulton Electric Steam and Hot Water Boilers

A Guide to Fulton Electric Steam and Hot Water Boilers

Fulton Electric Steam and Hot Water Boilers

Fulton manufactures an entire lineup of high-quality, reliable steam boilers, hot water boilers, and electric boilers with capacities ranging from 12 to 1,000 kW (1.2 to 100 BHP) up to 300 PSI for heating and process applications.

Fulton Electric Steam and Hot Water Boilers

Fulton’s vertically-designed, fully-packaged steam boilers are engineered and constructed to ASME specifications as well as any applicable standards and codes. Fulton's world-class electric boast exceptional efficiency due to the heating elements being totally immersed in water. The efficiency of these boilers can also be attributed to the pressure vessel being fully insulated.

With Fulton's electric boilers, radiation losses are minimal. By carefully calculating the heat-to-steam ratio, operating pressures are achieved quickly with the highest level of efficiency.

Unlike other conventional boilers, Fulton's electric boilers have no wasted fuel leaving the stack as a result of the burning of fossil fuels, which means no NOx (nitrogen oxides) are being transmitted to the atmosphere. Some of the key highlights of Fulton's electric steam and hot water boilers include:

Fulton FB-L & FB-W Utilizes Stainless Steel Heating Elements

Fulton utilizes low watt density elements created from stainless steel, which will not anneal as easily as copper elements. As a result, the stainless steel heating element bolsters the overall life expectancy of the boiler.

The small 12 to 36 kW boilers have horizontally mounted elements toward the bottom of the boiler; while the 50 to 1,000 kW elements are mounted vertically. In addition, Fulton offers optional Incoloy elements that are engineered to remain stable throughout extended periods of exposure to high temperatures. The Incoloy elements also offer an increased resistance to corrosion due to stress.

Robust Manufacturing

The Fulton FB-L and FB-W are engineered with intelligent designs to increase the life expectancy of the boiler and maximize boiler pressure vessel integrity. All Fulton boilers typically feature construction parameters that include material thicknesses more than 30% above ASME minimum requirements. Stainless steel units are offered for Clean Steam applications or RO/DI water.

Easy to Maintain and Inspect

The elements in all of Fultons electric steam and hot water boilers are designed to allow easy accessibility. Each boiler includes features that allow for quick removal for inspections or service by simply unbolting the elements from the flanges on the side or top of the boiler.

Contraction and expansion of the elements allow scale to easily flake off and drop to the bottom of the boiler. These boilers include strategically placed 3"x4" handholes facilitating simple inspection and periodic cleanout maintenance.

All Stainless Steel Systems for Clean Steam Applications

Fulton's complete stainless steel systems offer extra resistance to corrosion and are ideal for applications requiring clean steam.
